The Science behind CBD

CBD (cannabidiol) has been medically linked to several disorders and recently more studies have now shown how CBD can give several health benefits.

CBD (cannabidiol) works on the body by influencing the endocannabinoid system. Discovered in the 1980s, the endocannabinoid system in a network of neurotransmitters whose job is to make sure the body is kept under a stable environment internally, irrespective of the changes externally.

The endocannabinoid communication is further composed of receptors and messengers who send signals in and out of the system.

How best to describe the ECS (endocannabinoid system) is to see it as a balancing /homeostasis system within the body. The signals sent through the neurotransmitters are transmitted to every part of the body ensuring that it's running smoothly or needs to be regulated. When it discovers an abnormality, it regulates the situation by sending further instructions to the receptors responsible for that region, which then adjustsand brings the situation back to normal.

The ECS controls these various parts and functions within the body, pregnancy and the reproductive systems, sleep, appetite, the digestive systems, pain and pleasure, immune system, temperature, mood, memory, effect of other cannabinoids within the body and motor control.

CB1 and CB2 are cannabinoids produced naturally in the Endocannabinoid system whose job is to regulate the system, when CBD is introduced into the body it acts as the body's naturally produced CB1 or CB2 influencing neurotransmitters in the Endocannabinoid system thereby having a direct influence on those systems controlled by the ECS.

Now you know why CBD is so remarkable.
